What To Expect On Your First Visit
For Beginner Friendly Dance Classes & Beyond!
Book in advance in Punchpass. Choose a class, register, and you’ll get a confirmation.
Plan a little extra time. We’re on the 3rd floor with 3 flights of stairs (no elevator).
In class, your instructor leads the way. If it’s your first time, feel free to tell them.
Everyone in that room started exactly where you are.
Accessability & Volume:
- There are 3 flights of stairs to the studio (no elevator)
- Some classes play loud music and may include explicit lyrics
What to Wear & Bring:
- Wear comfortable clothing you can move in (athletic wear works)
- Bring a water bottle (filling station in the restroom)
- For yoga, mats can be borrowed.
- For pole, wear booty shorts + sports bra

- Free parking lot nearby, but not open to the public during school hours

If you want something energetic and fun: →
Dance Fusion, Hustle Heels, or Hustlercise Music-driven and high-energy. You don’t need to know how to dance — you follow along. Note: music is loud and may include explicit lyrics.
If you want something grounding or lower-pressure: →
Vinyasahh, Last Sunday Soundbath, or Shakti Shift. All levels welcome. A welcoming place to start if you’re brand new.
If you want a beginner friendly dance class & are nervous: →
Expressive Dance. Catch the dance classes at the first day of the month and stick around to build on it all month long
A manageable pace with no performance, no audition, no pressure. You’re allowed to just try it.
If you want a real workout: →
Hustlercise or Flex Appeal. Dance-based cardio and aerobics — the kind of classes where you forget you’re working out.
Optional add-on: Some Hustlercise classes include an optional 5–10 minute strength finisher (arms, legs, booty, etc.) after the main class — stay if you want, skip if you don’t.

Pole is its own class track with different expectations than dance, fitness, yoga, and reiki.
What to wear: booty shorts + sports bra (heels optional)
Why: skin contact is part of how pole technique works
Cancellation window: Pole requires 12+ hours’ notice (other classes are 6+ hours)

Do I need dance experience?
Beginner friendly dance, pole and fitness classes are an important part of what we offer. Many people start with no experience and end up coming every week!
How long are beginner dance classes?
Most classes, beginner and otherwise, are 45 minutes to 75 minutes. See full class descriptions or our schedule below for exact durations.
Is Hustle and Flow all ages?
No — Hustle and Flow is an 18+ studio.
I’m a beginner, can I take Pole classes?
Of course! Beginner friendly pole and dance classes are available at our studio in Portland ME.
Is Pole included in the New Student Special?
No — Pole is excluded, and it has a 12-hour cancellation policy.
How do I book?
All classes are booked in advance through Punchpass.
First make a free account, then register for the class you’re interested in.
Is there an elevator?
No — we’re on the 3rd floor, up 3 flights of stairs.
What should I wear?
Most classes: athletic wear.
Pole only: booty shorts + sports bra (heels optional).
Where do I park?
Street parking is available nearby. The free lot is not open to the public during school hours.
Do you offer beginner friendly classes every week?
Absolutely! Our beginner friendly classes as well as more advanced options run regularly.
